Description :


The powerpot is the most the convenient way to control the speed of a PMDC motor. It is a thyristor based speed controller using an advanced 8-bit microcontroller for supervisory and protection functions. The microprocessor guarantees slow start and instant shut down on faults. Three LED indicators display status and error conditions. The two opto-isolated inputs can be used as either enable or start /stop functions. Optionally one of the inputs can be used as an event trigger. That is reverse if input B is true type of commands can be handled. Input B also can be used as low speed inch control. There is an opto-isolated zero speed output available which enables gating of motor reverse with zero speed ensmmg that the drive is not damaged while reversing. The zero speed output also ensures that the drive doesn't turn on while the motor is still in motion due to inertial loads. The fuse at the motor output prevents forced reverse rotation, which may arise due to load inertia. The powerpot features error free snap-fit connectors, which are easy to interconnect. Basic Models

PPT 1500 -220 -T1-1

This means, it has a 1500W maximum controllable power with supply voltage of 220V single phase. This model has input A as enable and input B as override speed. That is, if input B is made active while input A is active the motor shall run at full speed. The typical applications include conveyor belts where the job can be accelerated by pressing the override key.

PPT 1500 -220 -TI-2
This means, it has a 1500W maximum controllable power with supply voltage of 220V single phase. This model has input A as enable and input B as crawl speed. That is, if input B is made active while input A is active the motor shall run at y. of full speed. The typical applications include machine tools where the job has to be inched.

PPT 1500-220-T2

This means, it has a 1500W maximum controllable power with supply voltage of220V single phase. This model has input A as enable and input B as reverse. That is, if input B is made active while input A is active the motor shall first stop and after zero speed is achieved output B will become active and turn on an external reverse relay or contactor. The typical applications include machine tools where the job has to be reversed.

Description

As a Drive Drive ++ is a very advanced DC Drive which packs in powerful punch at a reasonably low cost. In a small frame size it of 138L x 11OW x 90H which is both DIN RAIL mounting as well as panel mounting it packs in an ability to control a 4 HP PMDC motor. It is constructed using the most advanced SMD technology and includes a powerful 8 bit microcontroller for surveillance and control. Direct current sensing allows fast I2t protection possible. This protection is direct and independent of internal current limit. This protection is for the devices while the current limit is for the motor.

The feedback method either tacho feedback or armature voltage feedback,can be selected while installation from the configuration menu. Since every drive has to be tailored to the motor the configuration menu will mention the serial number of the motor on which it was calibrated.Separate GAIN (P parameter) and RESPONSE (I parameter) presets will help tune the drive for best response. The procedure is stored in its internal memory and can be a useful guide while trimming on site.

The drive guides the user to obtain the best IR compensation results so as to prevent over compensation. It is a Single Quadrant thyristor based speed controller however added advanced 8-bit microcontroller makes possible reversing in a safe manner using the reversing PCB.

The Start/Restart conditions can be set from the front panel display. The 16x2 line Backlit alphanumeric LCD display status and error conditions. It also enables plain English language programming of the instrument.

The five opto-isolated inputs can be used as either enable or start {stop, limit switch or key input functions. One of the inputs can be used as count input. This will allow small automation applications such as the bag filling and the cut to length etc.

Using internal commands various speed profiles and or profiles based on number of pulses can be programmed. The programming is in simple plain English language like statements.

Means run forward for count less thanl642 with ramp up of level 8, speed step of 250 and ramp down of level 4 and then stop.

"L2 REV,FOR T = 2.135, STOP" Means reverse nm for 2.135 Sec and stop

About 10 lines of program can be stored in the memory and repeated as often as desired.

There is a choice of type of feedback that can be used, which is selected from the front panel. One can select tachogenerator feedback or armature voltage feedback. The current limit is settable from the front panel and type of operation (constant Speed or Constant Torque) also can be set from the front panel. The following sample program illustrates the use of DPLC in a tapping operation.

If k5 is not pressed wait for keypress. As soon as k5 is pressed counter should be initialized to 00000 and k4 defined as halt, the nm forward with speed step of 25 until c = 2000 or mode = true then reverse with speed step of 100 and stop at c=O and then repeat ifk5 is pressed.
